John Philip Beck

J.P. Beck is one of the most well known gunsmiths of the long-rifle era. Born in 1751 he built rifles after the Revolutionary War in what is Lebanon Pennsylvania. This particular rifle has been built by me by using detailed photos of original Beck guns. The entire piece is wrapped around a custom made Rice barrel. It is 48 inches long octagon to round swamped .45 caliber rifle. the lock is a Chambers Dale Johnson lock. The highly figured curly maple stock is the highlight of the whole piece. it is adorned in various Incise and relief carvings used by Beck himself. The beautifully engraved brass patch-box with a release spring beck was know to use. For more info on the Beck gunsmith family check out
